Claudio Barbieri da Cunha specializes in logistics and transportation, with emphasis on the development of mathematical modeling tools and cutting-edge optimization-based solutions to the practice of logistics and transportation in Brazil. He holds an appointment as a Professor in the Department of Transportation Engineering at the University of São Paulo, where he teaches logistics, transportation, and operations research while also coordinating the graduate program. From August 2003 to April 2004, he visited the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Florida where he worked with Professor Ahuja on an innovative model for solving the train meet-pass problem and an application of very large-scale neighborhood search approach to multi-constrained knapsack problem.

Prior to his appointment at the University of São Paulo, he worked for 12 years at IPT, a major research institute in Brazil, where he led the logistics and transportation group. Throughout his career, he has successfully undertaken several projects in logistics and transportation for major companies and the public sector as well in Brazil.

Professor Cunha brings to the company his understanding of Latin American railroads. He will assist us in developing software products for these railroads and also in marketing our products in that region.
