James B. Orlin, the Edward Pennell Brooks Professor of Operations Research at the MIT Sloan School of Management, is a Senior Consultant for Innovative Scheduling.

Professor Orlin is a world-renowned researcher in the field of network flows and has been involved in numerous logistics projects. He has served as a Fulbright Fellow to the Netherlands, and as an NSF Presidential Young Investigator.

For more than twenty years, Professor Orlin has worked closely with Professor Ahuja, together authoring more than 50 papers and a textbook that won the Lanchester Prize in 1993 for the best publication in Operations Research. In the past ten years, they have collaborated extensively on the applications of very large-scale neighborhood search algorithms to airline, railroad, and other logistics problems. As a Senior Consultant to the company, Professor Orlin brings his unique insights of network flow algorithms and efficient data structures, and assists in developing innovative and efficient algorithms for highly complex transportation scheduling problems.
