Systems Engineer: Job duties include working with clients to understand business requirements, data analysis, applying in-house developed software tools to solve business problems, provide consulting services and customer support, and assist in software development projects. Requires an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or Business. Senior level positions require a Ph.D. and/or industry experience.
Software Engineers: Job duties include designing and developing software applications, programming in C++, Java, or .NET languages, implementing and testing interactive web-based and desktop-based software applications. Requires an M.S. in Computer Science or a related discipline. Senior level positions require a Ph.D. and/or industry experience.
Project Managers: Coordinate software development projects for clients in transportation industry; study business cases for clients; develop presentations describing business issues and resolutions; create computational geometry algorithm and 3D geometry renderings to automatically extract geographical features; develop web-based GIS documents using programming languages such as ArcGIS software suites, SQL, Google Map API, IIS, Linux, SQL Server, ArcGIS desktop, ArcInfo, .Net, WebService, object oriented techniques, Oracle, Linux, Unix, SOAP, JavaScript and C++; coordinate the testing and debugging of the software; meet with clients to obtain feedback about the software; develop documents to assist clients with using the software.
Requirements – Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or Math and one year’s experience in the job offered or one year’s experience in the IT or Engineering field.
Special requirements – Experience with ArcGIS software suites, .NET, WebService, computer, computational geometry algorithm and 3D geometry rendering, object oriented techniques, SQL Server, Oracle, JavaScript, C++ and Linux.
Candidates applying for any of these positions must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in a team. Candidates should be intelligent, ambitious, highly motivated, possess good communication skills, and have a strong desire to excel and succeed. A background in logistics and transportation will be preferred, though it is not required.
